Eleven’s Party in Boston
This calendar year has a unique date in it, 11/11/11. This special date not only marks a national day of reflection and gratefulness with Veteran’s Day, but it’s also my birthday. I know what you’re thinking…what was my little league jersey number? Well, it was 13. Actually, I am just kidding. It was 11. Everything was 11. Whenever I could get anything with the number 11 on it I tried, even the Ocean’s 11 DVD. I still try to get whatever I can, but these days I’m not wearing many jerseys besides the BSSC T-shirts.
Last year for my birthday, Lin and my parents threw me an awesome 30th celebration (now you know my age). She rented out a room at our local pub and booked our favorite cover band, Felix Brown (if you haven’t seen them play, I suggest you do!). This was the one of the best gifts ever: forty of my closest friends at our local pub rocking out to one of the best local bands with tons of food and lots of booze. Who wouldn’t want to have that for their birthday party?! To get the point of this post, I want to celebrate again. This time on the minute of the hour on the day of the month of my birthday, in the year of 2011. I have always loved sharing my birthday with Veteran’s Day and it’s already a unique date because of the 11/11. For this year to be 11/11/11 is extra special and not many people can ever say that their birth day, birthday month and the current year were all the exact same number at once.
But enough about my birthday, I want to share this rare night with everyone. So I need your help, Boston! Where should we celebrate 11/11/11? Bloggers, readers, restaurants, bars, PR folks and mom and dad (since I know you are reading): let me hear your ideas! Please comment below, email me, or tweet me and perhaps we can plan something fun together, create some memories and who knows…maybe we can take a celebratory shot on 11/11/11 at 11:11pm.
