Get Met. And Fries.
America’s favorite food goes savvy chic. The Met Bar & Grill has taken the hamburger to new heights. With their own menu and “burger bar,” you know The Met is serious about their burgers. Their Continental Burger menu offers local variations like the Boston, topped with cheddar, bacon, and a fried egg. Looking for something more exotic? Check out their International Burger menu. I recommend the Paris – brie, fried egg, caramelized onions and truffle mayo. Don’t let the egg on the burger intimidate you! Somehow it totally works. Upgrade your fries to The Met Fries with Parmesan, sage and a side of truffle mayo (which brings out the same flavor on the burger).
If none of these delicious concoctions quite appeal to your taste buds, then make your own! If you really want to indulge, order Kobe beef as your meat. If you want something on the lighter side, you can also choose from turkey or veggie burgers, or grilled chicken.
Burgers aren’t the only thing you can order at The Met. Their Met Creations menu offers some tradition fare like Chicken Milanese and Veal Parmigiano, as well as contemporary offerings including Met Winter “Paella” and Cedar Miso Salmon.
Don’t forget to start your meal with a cocktail! I recommend the Asian Lemon Martini or the Mayflower, a subtle twist on the classic Cosmo. Their draft menu selection varies by location, so check it out online before you go.
- My burger was cooked to a perfect medium rare, because there’s nothing worse than an over-cooked burger.
- The size of the burger was not overwhelming. You are paying for a high-quality burger, not some 3-pound monstrosity that leaves you feeling like a sack of potatoes when you are finished.
