Worth the Wait to Get to The Top
Yes, I’m talking about The Top of the Hub, floor 52 of the Prudential Center. We happened to be there on a spectacularly clear day and the view through the bar was breathtaking. I could have sat there all day watching the planes come in and out of Logan.
But the view isn’t the only thing worth going for. Sitting at the bar, we had the chance to chat it up with the bartender who was extremely knowledgeable, recommending two amazing mojitos, Green Tea and Hendrick’s Cucumber. I would also argue that he is a mixologist in his own right, quickly served up a lemonade-style drink for another group at the bar featuring Absolut Boston. While we stuck to the cocktail’s, the 20-page wine menu boasts an impressive list for those looking for something with a softer palate.
We had the luxury of partaking in all The Top of the Hub has to offer in the early afternoon of a Friday (i.e. played birthday hookie from work!). If you are looking for this type of intimate experience, we recommend going mid-week and early (our bartender said the bar fills up by 4:30 pm daily).
One final note: don’t be scared off by the price of the drinks. Why pay $12 for the observatory when you can enjoy a fabulous cocktail with the same view?!
